Company Stories
Actuant Corporation
Custom programs produce valuable, measurable results. Our partnership with Actuant Corporation resulted in a general management program with a focus on leadership and global strategy for individuals who have or will be assuming key profit and loss responsibilities throughout the world in both mature and emerging markets.
After engaging in a successful spin-off seven years ago that resulted in phenomenal business growth and success, Actuant realized the critical role executive education played in these results. The week-long general management executive education initiative was driven by the continuing importance Actuant has placed on learning and development and the critical role it plays in their business success.
To accomplish the strategic imperatives of this program, Actuant set out to work with a university that combined cutting-edge research and real-world experience with practical world-class execution. After an exhaustive one-year search and evaluation process, Actuant Corporation selected The University of Wisconsin-Madison to provide the executive education needed.
“Partnering with the UW-Madison School of Business’ Executive Education unit as the designer and facilitator of this major development and learning initiative was critical to the success of the general management training. The curriculum facilitated by the world-class faculty delivered superior expertise that could be strategically executed to realize competitive advantage. The faculty motivated, inspired and jump-started our creativity and made us laugh! Their unique teaching styles and overall energy combined with passionate messages riveted our team and became key components of our discussion over the five-day program…and remain part of our culture today.
The general management program exceeded our expectations. Participants found the presentations both thought provoking and very practical in terms of being able to apply the concepts back to their business world and personal lives.
I give my highest recommendation to The University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business’ Executive Education custom programs.”
