The First Step for Starting a Technology Business

  • Have you thought about starting a high-tech business?
  • Do you know what it takes to start a successful technology business?
  • Do you understand your options for patenting, licensing or developing a technology?

Are you working on a technology that has business potential?  Spend two hours getting a clear picture of what it takes to transfer research and technology into a business.  You will learn the basics of disclosure and patenting.  Assess your own strengths and weaknesses as an entrepreneur.  Learn about ways to finance the start of your business.  Discuss the various options for developing new technology and which may be the best fit for you.

This program is designed for entrepreneurs, faculty and staff that have viable technical research but have not yet started a business venture for the technology.  The program will be presented by Technology Business Development Institute staff, a WARF patent agent, and Federal and State Technology (FAST) program staff.
